El aspecto económico prevalece cuando se opta por los turbopropulsores, ya que con frecuencia el Turbopropulsor es más favorable que un Jet cuando se trata de vuelos a corta distancia. Los turbopropulsores pueden aterrizar y despegar en lugares donde la pista es demasiado corta para los Jets. Muchas compañías aéreas tienen también la posibilidad, de dejar la aeronave en el lugar de aterrizaje cuando se trata de turbopropulsores, evitándole a los clientes los elevados precios de vuelos de posicionamiento.
